1. What drew you to intern at The Red Pencil (Singapore), and what was your role during your internship?
I was drawn to The Red Pencil’s mission as art therapy is something I have never heard of before. As a Corporate Partnerships intern, I helped explore and develop new collaborations and conducted various activities to support funding initiatives.
2. How did your experience as a Corporate Partnerships intern influence your personal or professional development?
It overall strengthened my confidence in communicating and negotiating with external stakeholders.
3. Can you share a memorable project or task you worked on during your time at The Red Pencil (Singapore)?
A memorable highlight was continuing to work on the mid-development of our charity golf event, where I coordinated with sports partners, venues, and sponsors to shape a new fundraising concept.
4. What skills or knowledge did you gain or improve upon during your internship, and how did you see them benefiting your future career?
I honed my skills in partnership outreach, proposal writing, and event budgeting. These will be invaluable as I pursue a career that bridges business strategies.
5. What did you learn about art therapy and its impact on people in need?
I learned how art therapy offers a powerful, non-verbal way for individuals to heal and express emotions. I personally also found myself at peace when I’m designing a piece of artwork or drawing.
6. How has your experience as an intern shaped your future career goals or aspirations?
It inspired me to continue working at the intersection of purpose and business, using my skills in finance and partnerships to create initiatives that drive both social and sustainable impact.
